This is a command line application that turns scanned images of text to editable XML files.
VeryPDF TIF to XML OCR Converter is a Command Line application that uses Optical Character Recognition technology. The conversion from images in TIF and other image formats that are PDF form, to documents that are editable XML files. TIF to XML OCR Converter does not Adobe Acrobat software to operate. It is not just TIF format that the tool handles but range of them including BMP, PNG, JPG, PCX, TGA, etc. It is also able to detect multiple languages such as German, French, Spanish, Italian and a few more. You could have just one page converted or the whole document. You could also select a range of pages and get that converted, if you would like to. There would be no need for Adobe Acrobat or the free reader.
Any encrypted or password protected documents also does not stop the tool from working through the conversion process. The physical layout is maintain without problems. The quality of the OCR conversion process will largely depend on the quality of the scanned image and the clarity of the characters of that image. Thus quite bit of preprocessing need to be done before the images could be submitted to the conversion tool. De-skewing is one very important operation that is required. Removing noises on the pages helps too as does the original scans being in high resolution. So if your workflow requires this kind of a conversion, you need to get hold of the image tools too and grab this tool in the work process.
